PokerStars News 2019

Let’s take a look at what news and innovations Stars pleased and upset us with in 2019.
The room has managed to change a lot in a year, and we want to remember what PokerStars has changed in a year.
Let’s go!
Reduction of Stars Rewards for MTT players
The first news from PokerStars in 2019 was a reduction in rewards for MTT players according to Stars Rewards.
Previously, MTT players received 100 points for $1, and since February this figure has decreased to 45 for each dollar.
Split Omaha on PokerStars
In February 2019, we learned the good news that PokerStars adds the game Split Omaha. For those who don’t know yet, let’s see what the essence and differences of this discipline are from Omaha:
The game is based on the rules of classic Omaha (the format is Pot-Limit, each participant is dealt 4 cards face down). The main difference is that there are two boards to make the best combination.
In terms of game strategy, it is important to win two pots at once.
Limitation of the use of scripts and charts
The essence of auto-seating scripts was to sit at the most successful table with weak players (based on the statistics of previous games).
PokerStars did not ban the use of all scripts at all, but limited them to a greater extent.
What has changed – Stars has limited some of the scripts, namely:
– scripts that help to avoid strong players when registering for Spin&Go tournaments.
– scripts that help in registering players for cash tables, where the majority (at least half) of players are assessed as “weak”.
– a program that allows you to automatically select a seat at a table for a game in the room according to criteria that are based on information about the participants in the tables.
– a program that notifies the player that someone from the list of players has joined the game.
– a script that automatically seats you at a HUSNG table against any player that needs to be avoided (following the list).
From the charts, the main rules:
– Only materials containing information about what hand are allowed play or not in an open pot preflop.
– Any automatic and semi-automatic programs that open access to materials while the Stars client is running are prohibited.
– Any auxiliary material must be compressed to 9 charts (13×13 pixels in size).
Software updates and transition to the Aurora engine
PokerStars.net has begun the transition to the new engine. There were no major changes, but the client became more attractive and smoother

6+, Showtime and Fusion tournaments
PokerStars rolled out 4 new disciplines: 6+ Holdem, Showtime Holdem, Showtime Omaha and Fusion.
You can learn more about Wide Deck Hold’em in this article
Fusion is a product of familiar to us and classic Omaha and Holdem poker. Players are dealt 2 cards, + one card is given on the flop and + one more on the turn. The river is played according to the Omaha rules: 2 pocket cards and 3 board cards are used to make a combination.
Showtime (Omaha and Holdem) – the game is completely consistent with classic Omaha and Hold’em. The only difference: after the players fold, their cards are revealed to all players at the table.
Multi-tabling restrictions
It’s no secret that PokerStars is trying its best to cut down on opportunities and minimize the number of regulars in the room. Multi-tabling restrictions in actively playing countries are simply one of the steps towards this. 4 cash tables remained available for play at the same time.
PokerStars closed in Switzerland
The Swiss authorities thought seriously and took control of the game operators, we are talking about foreign companies. At the moment, PokerStars dot-eu or dot-com operate legally in Switzerland, but the question remains open.
PokerStars changed multipliers in Spin&Go
What exactly has changed:
multiplier x5 will appear more often than x6;
multiplier x3 will appear more often than x2, starting with a buy-in of $15;
the second multiplier will now appear more than 2 times more often than before.
The “All-in Cash Out” feature at cash tables
“All-in Cash Out” is a kind of insurance that allows players to sell their equity for real cash, at the moment when the player presses the button “All-in.”
“All In Cash Out» is a tricked-out version of «Run It Twice», which does not require the consent of both players.
Thus, a third player (fictionally) appears in the hand — in the person of the room — who is ready to lose or lose funds based only on the investment skills of the current player.
The «All In Cash Out» option allows players to reduce variance and downstreaks.
Spin&Go Flash from PokerStars
The new Spin&Go format from PokerStars, how it differs:
– Starting stack — 300 chips (instead of 500)
– Level duration — 1 minute (instead of 3)
At the same time, the rake, multipliers and probabilities remain the same, as in regular Spin&Go.
Deep Water and Tempest Holdem on PokerStars
You can read more about these new disciplineshere
To be honest, 2019 from PokerStars was quite controversial for regulars, but with all this they know how to diversify the game, especially for new players.
What can we say from ourselves? It clearly makes sense for regulars to consider playing in other rooms, because the market offers a lot of great options.
For beginners – definitely welcome to the stars!
Let’s see what the room will delight us with in 2020 🙂
